Ward Hendrix is a Research Scientist in the RTC Deep Learning team at the Diagnostic Image Analysis Group (DIAG). RTC Deep Learning provides guidance and services for (image) data analysis and deep learning in the Radboudumc.

Before he started in the RTC Deep Learning team, he worked as a PhD candidate (2019-2024) on deep learning systems for automated detection of (incidental) lung nodules in chest CT scans at DIAG and the Jeroen Bosch Hospital. His research was conducted under the supervision of Colin Jacobs, Matthieu Rutten, Bram van Ginneken, and Mathias Prokop. In 2019, he finished the Master’s programme Integrated Product Design at Delft University of Technology (cum laude). The topic of his MSc thesis was “Harthulp: a smart question-and-answer platform for cardiac patients”.
